Part-time pre-election organizer, Toronto Centre NDP, Samantha Green Campaign

This position will support the growing team in bottom lining canvass efforts and will report to the Election Planning Committee Chair. You will need to feel comfortable with using (or learning how to use) the party’s volunteer recruitment tools and be very comfortable with making hundreds of phone calls every week.

There is room to grow, expand weekly hours going into the late fall and early 2025 and work on the election campaign should the role evolve and be a good fit.

Duties:

• Recruit for recurring canvasses;
• Ensure volunteers are onboarded and confirmed for each canvass;
• Recruit and confirm canvass leads from Election Planning Committee and Riding Association Members;
• Track canvass locations to ensure optimal coverage;
• Attend monthly Election Planning Committee meetings;
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Some level of paid or unpaid volunteer management experience;
• Customer service or call centre experience considered an asset;
• Familiarity with NDP campaigns considered an asset.

Start date: Early-mid August
Hours per week: 10 with likelihood of more hours in the fall and into 2025, while the hours are flexible you will need to be available to make calls during evenings and weekends to match volunteer availabilities
Hourly rate: $25.00

This is a contract position with no deductions and unfortunately no benefits. You will be responsible for remitting your own deductions to the CRA when you file your taxes.
